We have an informal term at Southern Pastures, … and it sums up our philosophies exceptionally well. We look for, and actively encourage our employees and partners to be “Southern Pasturized” meaning to be immersed in the values-based ethos which underpins all our relationships and practices. This means we have some mighty fine organisations walking alongside us in our journey. Within these organisations are some amazing people (and it is always about people for us) who keep us on our toes and current with research, advice and services to push us to continually improve… most importantly our partners listen to our crazy ideas and help make them happen..

We support and do business with farmer-owned cooperatives wherever possible. We take great pride in being part of a democracy for governance, participating at every opportunity to have our say to influence travel in the right direction based on our ESG policies.

Fonterra – we wave the flag for co-operatives because we believe the farming community benefits from this ownership model. We also believe in keeping things local and keeping things simple, so our 19 dairy farms in South Waikato and Canterbury are all share-holding suppliers to Fonterra. Fonterra produces Southern Pastures’ premium 10 Star Certified Values butter that is exported under our Lewis Road Creamery Brand to the USA, Australia and Singapore.

Green Valley Dairies – Lewis Road Creamery’s fresh milk in New Zealand is bottled at Green Valley Dairies.
