Premium Lewis Road Creamery export butter now on NZ shelves

Premium butter made from Lewis Road’s parent Southern Pastures’ cream, and sold under the Lewis Road Creamery brand, will now be available to New Zealanders.

In 2020, the butter became the first, and remains the only, New Zealand dairy product to be stocked US-wide by Whole Foods.

“We are making a genuine pasture-to-plate traditionally churned butter,” said Lynette Man from Lewis Road Creamery.

“This is not something you buy just for baking, it’s butter with such gorgeous colour and flavor that it can stand on its own
on a cheeseboard.”

In New Zealand, the butter will be sold at a discount for domestic customers. The local RRP will be N$7.49 for 227 grams. In the US the retail price is currently more than NZ$10.

Southern Pastures said the lower price for NZ consumers reflects the butter’s local provenance and the reduced transport costs of selling it in New Zealand.

The Lewis Road Creamery 10 Star Export Butter is available in New Zealand supermarkets nationwide.
